Happy Thanksgiving!

Alison worked on her first science fair project this month. Her project was
What Freezes Fastest - plain water, water with sugar, or water with salt. She did a great job (and so did Steve and I since this was our first little science fair project too).
Jen and Conrad came for a visit after Thanksgiving. We had a great time with them. They got to see first hand the craziness of our life with babies crying , diaper changes, and putting up Christmas decorations. Here Conrad and Steve play a Wii boxing game.
After Thanksgiving turkeys went on sale so we decided to make our very own turkey.
This was a first for us since we've always gone over to other people's houses for Thanksgiving (for which we are so grateful). All I can say is thank you Ina Garten- I love your recipes!

We had a great time at Aunt Jeannine's house for an amazing Thanksgiving feast.

Dad's Workout Video?

I thought I saw these books on dad's shelf the other day?

Laverty 411

Here is Steve with the girls. It seems that they like to gang up him and he loves every minute of it.

Dinner time is even more interesting now that we are feeding the babies "real" people food. This picture represents their first experience with a spoon!

So, we have a few baby toys in our house. I tell you every nightit looks like a toy bomb went off in our house and once the kids areall asleep the little mommy and daddy elf just pick it all up and make it looklike nothing ever happened. All I can say is thank goodness for baby gear when you havetwo babies. Lilly and Bailey love their exersaucers.

Recently, Alison and Lauren finished their dance class. This is a videoof their last class when they could show off to their parents all theirnew skills.

One more little pumpkin

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat

This weekend was Halloween. Alison and Lauren were very excited about dressing up and getting candy from complete strangers. We even dressed the two cherubs up and we all went around our neighborhood. Here are a few pictures of our night out.

Steve and the four girls right before going out. Let's see if you can tell which twin is which in these next two pictures...

Giggling Babies

The twins are growing so fast. They are in the giggling phase of life where almost everything you do is funny. Mommy washing the dishes... funny. Alison and Lauren running around the house... funny. Daddy tripping over the bouncy seat for the 100th time... priceless.

We took a video tonight of Alison and Lauren making the girls laugh. This is has been our nightly routine and we all love it.

Here's a picture of the twins in the morning. Can you tell who is who?

Jenny and Conrad's Wedding

My sister Jenny got married in the Boston Temple on October 18th. What a beautiful day it was- the leaves were so colorful and we visited with many dear friends and family. Jenny and Conrad are such a great couple. Jen looked elegant and was the most calm bride I have ever seen. Its great to have a brother-in law like Conrad in the family. After the wedding we went to a wonderful reception where there was dancing and a luncheon. My sister Trisha made their wedding cake- wow- she did an amazing job. Thanks mom and dad and everyone for a great visit.

Farm Days and Pumpkin Patch

Alison and Lauren modeled some clothes for a company called, Pretty Me.

We went to a beautiful horse farm not too far from where we live. The girls had so much fun

looking at the horses and running around before it started to rain. My friend Jen did a great job seeing how the girls were wild. You can check her blog out at: http://www.jenniferandersonphoto.typepad.com/

Ahh! This picture just melts my heart.

Lauren's favorite pose.

We went to a pumpkin patch on Saturday as a family. The girls went on a hay ride with Steve to pick out their very own pumpkin. It was a gorgeous day.
Alison contemplates getting the large one- but decides since she can't pick it up she'll move on.
The girls decided they really wanted smaller pumpkins.
Lilly and Bailey came to the pumpkin patch too, but they were a bit fussy, so I ended up strolling around with them near the barn (they were just too bothered to have their picture taken then).

Our current past time- making babies laugh

Lately, Alison and Lauren try to make the babies laugh. We'll be posting more of these videos since now they are starting to put on little performances for the babies. Bailey and Lilly crack up when Alison and Lauren pull out some music toys and act silly.

Apple Pie

We had a great visit with the Laverty family- Texas branch. Mike, Lia, Julia and baby Colton drove all the way from Texas and stopped at our house for a few days, before heading up to Martha's Vineyard for the fishing derby- lucky! Here they pose at a civil war battlefield near Harper's Ferry, where we toured around.
Lauren and cousin Julia having fun.
The babies, Lauren and I went apple picking with some of our friends at a beautiful orchard. Luckily, my friend Lindsay had a baby carrier and held Bailey, while I held Lilly.

The rewards of apple picking- our homemade apple pie. Thanks to Grandma Muriel we have a terrific recipe- which turned out amazing. Don't you just love Fall? Movie line- "If I knew you I would send you a bouquet of sharpend pencils."

Tutus and camping in the basement

The little dancers- Alison and Lauren started a ballet and tap dance class. They love it- especially since they get to wear a leotard and tutu.
Lauren shows off her arabasque.
Steve set up our tent one night in the play room and the girls loved playing camping out. We read stories in the tent and had s'mores.
Lauren and I frequently play school while Alison is at school. Here she is painting her masterpiece and shows off her pb&j face.

Peanut Butter and Jelly

The babes are now three months. It is so fun having these cuties in our home. They are at the stage of smiling, laughing, and cooing- and they just love us and think we are so funny. So, my day is now busy with getting Alison to the school bus, going for morning walks with friends, (sometimes I can even squeeze 10 minutes of pilates in) and etertaining (and feeding and changing) Bailey, Lilly and Lauren the rest of the day. Luckily, Lauren has a good friend next door so that helps her stay busy. Alison is liking school, but will usually have a melt down around 7 pm. All day kindergarten eventually has its effect on her.
Its funny having twins, because wherever I go people undoubtly will say something like, "wow, you must be busy," or "you have your hands full." And I say "yes". But, I would really like to say when they keep talking is: please stop talking to me so I can finish my shopping here at Target and get out of here before my older children run away from me again and before I have to feed two babies. haha. Actually, its not that bad. I do love going out with them, its just the going out is the hard part sometimes. Luckily for our car and our budget we don't go out too much.
So, here are some new pictures of our little babies. Our friend Jennifer, the photographer, yet again took some pictures of our babes (man, I'm lucky to have her as a friend)- she did an amazing job!

August photo shoot

Alison and Lauren did another photo shoot for my friend Jennifer, the photographer. They were modeling some fall clothes for a company called Blondie & Co. These little cuties know how to model now. Alison has discovered how to use our camera on our cell phones. She's now been taking pictures of everyone and everything (stuffed animals, her back pack- you get the picture) and showing them how to pose. Oh boy!
